Position Overview:

We are in search of a Senior Manager, IT Governance & PMO, Africa, who will be based in Johannesburg and be part of the Global Digital Services team.

 

This role is key in the development and implementation of a comprehensive IT governance framework with improved business process across enterprise. The position will also be responsible for ensuring that Digital Services initiatives align with the company’s overall business strategy, and committed work is delivered.

 

The assigned person will be a part of the global governance community to share best practice & create transparency across the network.

 

What You’ll Do for Us:

 

The Senior Manager, IT Governance & PMO key responsibilities are:

Governance 

  • Establish operating routines to ensure the organization is running effectively and efficiently to meet agreed objectives.
  • Ensure global PMO tools, processes & agile methodologies are deployed and used consistently.
  • Partner with colleagues across operating unit and functional teams to ensue projects and products are delivered by leveraging existing work rather than building solutions in silos
  • Collaborate with digital services leads, global counterparts to ensure capacity is allocated in line with the ABP priorities and that the value created for the business is optimized for the total enterprise
  • Partner with Procurement on Vendor contracts and management as needed.
  • Partner with technical leads to own local application maps, etc.

 

Portfolio Management

  • Execute Portfolio Planning & Tracking including standardized Portfolio Summary Creation, Quarterly Reviews, Integrated Roadmap creation, identification of risks
  • Collaborate with Digital Services Lead, business teams, product teams, and delivery teams to ensure Project & Product work has quality data, clear deliverables, and measurable success criteria available in global tools.
  • Coordinate, plan, and deliver change management activities and associated communication relevant to portfolio management.
  • Promote the culture of enterprise mindset and leadership behaviors throughout the organization and into key processes and technologies.

 

Financial Management

  • Own stewardship of all financials associated with projects and operations.
  • Manage health of the overall regional portfolio of project and products through global standardize reporting & analytics and value delivery articulation.

 

Special Projects 

  • Collaborate with Global Digital Services Lead, business teams, digital product teams, and IT delivery teams to develop the overall strategy and approach to facilitate digital services that deliver business value and quality client experiences for the Operating Unit. This includes establishing metrics to track & steward progress and delivery.
  • Manage the execution and delivery of assigned portfolio of special projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to refine the approach and tactics for performance, delivery success, client satisfaction, and team engagement.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent required
  • 5+ of IT leadership and/or management experience
  • Data, Digital or IT Product Management and Agile/ DevOps experience
  • Excellent communication skills both in local & English language; facilitation skills with ability to influence change at higher levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical approach & drive technical discussions.
  • Proven analytical skills – can process information quickly to drive decisions in a timely manner.
  • Leads by example, creates a sense of urgency, energy, and ownership.
  • Strong sense of self- awareness, can relate well, learn quickly and adapt to changes in fast paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Experience working in multinational companies with global, cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of TOGAF enterprise architecture framework and CGEIT governance framework.
  • Comfort in holding team members accountable for achieving their goals.
  • Functional experience in Commercial or Supply Chain or Finance business domains.
  • Familiar with local regulations such as tax or cross-border data transfer will be a plus.
