MiCT is seeking for two online community ambassadors for its online global platform. These will be vital roles responsible for fostering engagement of the Eastern Africa and West Africa fellows respectively in the online community, facilitate discussions, and upholding community guidelines within our online platform. MiCT invites interested and qualified applicants to submit proposals by 06.07.2025 specifying the region they are applying to (West or East Africa).
Introducing MiCT
Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organisation delivering expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision and agility. Through our collaborative work with our partners, we foster transparent, inclusive and fair dialogue supporting resilient societies that thrive.
Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates the training of journalists and media producers, programme and content development, radio and film production, magazine and book publishing, media research and monitoring, in addition to supporting the financial viability of our partners.
2. The Program
The MiCT Critical Voices Fellowship is aimed at media professionals from war and crisis regions who share a common value in their professional journalistic integrity. The program is currently focused on journalists and media makers from Afghanistan, East and West Africa, North Africa and Middle East, Ukraine and Myanmar, among others. Fellows receive expert safety advice, online training, legal advice, psycho-social support, production support, and access to a global community of like-minded media professionals.
3. Description of the roles
Working closely with the platform manager, the online community ambassadors will help generate engagement of East African and West African fellows within the platform:
Engagement facilitation:
Actively engage with community members by initiating discussions, responding to comments, and encouraging participation on the online platform.
Organize, support, and facilitate online community meetings, events and trainings.
Content curation:
Curate and share relevant content, including articles, resources, discussions, to stimulate conversation and provide value to fellow members.
Feedback monitoring and moderation:
Compile and analyze feedback from fellow community members to identify trends, opportunities, training topics and more.
Monitor community activity and trends, to identify topics of interest and areas for improvement.
Enforce community guidelines and guidelines to consistently maintain a respectful and safe environment.
The roles are remote. The level of effort (LOE) allocated for each role will be 96h, from July to December 2025 (estimate 14h per month, although it can vary from month to month).
4. Application Requirements
Successful applicants should be able to provide proof of the following:
Excellent communication skills, well-organized with good time management skills.
Interest and understanding of issues surrounding Exile and Crisis Journalism and Media Freedom are an advantage.
Experience managing communities, and organising events & trainings desired.
If apply for East Africa: fluency in Arabic and English is required.
If apply for West Africa: fluency in French and English is required.
