Associate, Global Business Development

Women for Women International works in some of the most dangerous places to be a woman. We serve women survivors of war in conflict and post-conflict areas around the world in 8 countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and South Sudan. Our core belief is that stronger women build stronger nations, and with access to knowledge, resources, and a support network, a woman rebuilds her life and improves her community.

 

We are looking for someone who loves new challenges and is eager to learn. Being highly organized and able to juggle multiple projects is a must. You will need to be self-motivating and show initiative. This role has multiple touchpoints across the Business Development Team, which are vital to our work with women affected by war.

The Associate, Global Business Development will be an important member of a 9-member Global Business Development team, supporting the team in various ways to help meet our global business development goals. The Global Business Development team sits within the Global Programs Unit, including sub-teams focused on program design, monitoring and evaluation, country office support, and grants management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

 Engagement                                                                                                                                        

 

  • Ensure data integrity and information management through accurate and regularly updated Salesforce Lead the team in daily Salesforce use and guidance on best practices for the Business Development Unit. Together with Associate, Global Program Funding Opportunities, support team to maintain and update Business Development Team filing system.
  • Lead on logistical coordination of Business Development related events aimed at current and prospective
  • Facilitate scheduling and agenda creation for Business Development team meetings and monthly business development calls with Country Offices together with the Partnerships team to ensure all are informed and engaged in discussions about new Support with calendar arrangement, note taking etc.
  • Support the Manager of Global Business Development with all aspects of Business Development team prospect research Keep up to date on thematic and donor priorities with an eye to how they impact future funding opportunities and help brief teams on donor trends and opportunities. Understand and support the team on global data protection guidelines.

 

 

  • Monitor funding opportunities across various platforms e.g. government websites, donor databases

 

  • Keep robust records of all prospects researched and pursued, including through regular upkeep of database Curate our Salesforce CRM effectively to maintain accurate donor information.
  • Research existing grant donors to support the development of repeat business leading to strong and long-term
  • Assist with due diligence on current and potential donors as well as proposal application due diligence
  • Prepare pre assessment documents for Go No Go process across teams involved in proposal Provide support on the process as needed.
  • Support on writing for lower level (10k – 50k) restricted concept notes/proposals to individual, corporate and family donors with guidance as needed from the rest of the
  • Support with the development of briefings on prospective and current donors for colleagues ahead of relevant meetings or
  • Writing support as needed on handouts for donors covering thematic areas of Women for Women

International’s work.

  • Other team-wide support as needed, including but not limited to updating the team’s pipeline and working on monthly team updates, support preparing presentations together with team members including the Director of Business Development, etc

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or the equivalent in
  • 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in fundraising or other relevant This could include internships, volunteering etc.
  • Excellent spoken and written English in order to support research findings, writing, and inter/intra-team
  • Strong collaborator who can comfortably work across a multi-disciplinary team and across cultures and
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work within tight
  • Computer skills, including working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM is
  • Ability to travel as
  • Interest in global humanitarian, development, and gender issues and fundraising
