Linux Systems Administrator – Spacial Data Science and Applied Learning Lab

Overview

The role of the Administrator will be to manage the Linux servers and services of the ICT infrastructure for the Spacial Data Science and Applied Learning Lab.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, and manage Server management software like Prometheus and Grafana.
  2. Linux installations, upgrades, configuration, and management
  • Patch critical vulnerabilities
  1. Server User management and assisting in trouble shooting OS level software and hardware issues
  2. Take periodic application-level backups like databases (MySQL, postgres) and data folders.
  3. Assist in CI/CD
  4. Collaborate with ICT for network infrastructure
  5. Assist in following up on development tasks and Good to know python and Django
  6. Monitoring digital data collection

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in computer science
  • 2 to 4 years of experience managing Linux systems

Education, knowledge and experience

  • BSc or MSc in computer science
  • 2 to 4 years of experience managing Linux systems
  • Excellent knowledge of virtualization including Dockerization
  • Good knowledge of databases

Terms and conditions

  • This is a Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency commensurate with skills and experience.
