Mission
Kivuhub envisions a transformed eastern Democratic Republic of Congo – a vibrant “Silicon Kivu” fueled by innovation and empowered women. By 2025, we aim to make significant strides towards achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 5: Gender Equality: We champion gender equality by providing women with access to the right training and resources in the digital sector. This empowers them to participate actively in the tech industry, closing the digital gender gap.
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Through digital skills training and entrepreneurship support, Kivuhub fosters job creation and economic growth in eastern DRC. This aligns with SDG 8 targets 8.5 (decent work and economic growth) and 8.9 (promote sustainable tourism).
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Our focus on technology innovation fuels industrial development and infrastructure improvements (SDG 9 targets 9.C – access to information and communications technology and innovation), contributing to a more connected and prosperous region.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: Collaboration is key to achieving the SDGs. Kivuhub actively partners with stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise towards a shared vision. This aligns with SDG 17 target 17.6 – knowledge sharing and capacity building for sustainable development.
